Dandridge "Dede" Keyser Davis

An abstract artist from Richmond, Virginia, Dede Davis paints large, acrylic abstract paintings, as well as smaller encaustic (beeswax) paintings. Born in Charlottesville, VA and having grown up throughout Virginia, Europe, Colorado, and California helped to mold her unique style. She received a BA with honors in Studio Art from Hollins University in 1989. Her shows span from 1994 at Abbott's Habit in Los Angeles, CA to Dec 2011 at Quirk Gallery, Richmond, VA to Nov 2016 VCU Health Massey Cancer Clinic at Stony Point, VA. In 2010, the Federal Reserve, acquired one of her large pieces for their permanent collection. Designing wallpaper and textiles was a natural progression for Dandridge, having two decades of decorative painting under her belt. She has been able to blend her eye for scale and color into a modern line of timeless, painterly wallpaper. Notice the nuances she brings to each design with a neutral palette, layers of depth and organic shapes inspired from nature. Enjoy!

Mission

Using Art to bring joy and inspiration to others. Highlighting the nuances through design with a neutral palette, layers of depth and organic shapes inspired from nature.

The physical act of the hand moving in a painting is of great importance, it cannot be detached from the meaning of the image itself. The hand moves, feeling is transmitted. A gesture makes feeling intelligible.
